How to enable LLDP on a TP-Link Switch

Background: TP-Link does not typically enable LLDP by default. LLDP is used to display information about neighbor devices connected to switch ports.

  1. Open your favorite web browser and enter the IP address of the switch. When the web page appears, login. The default login credentials are username: admin and password: admin
  2. Click on the L2 Features tab, then LLDP Config.
  3. Check the LLDP Enable checkbox in Global Config and press Apply.
  4. Click on Save at the top.
  5. Go back to System tab and check the System Summary to verify SNMP is enabled.

How to disable LLDP on a TP-Link Switch

  1. Follow the above procedure except Uncheck the LLDP Enable checkbox.
